VERRUCOUS HYPERPLASIA (Pre stage of malignant oral cancer)
Verrucous Hyperplasia :-
This is a type of disease which is a pre malignant stage of oral cancer - premalignant means it is a previous stage of maignancy (means spreading of the tumour from one place to another)
Causes :-
The causes of verrucous hyperplasia are not correctly known . However , some main causes which can be listed are as follows :
- Tobacco eating.
- Ciggarete smoking .
- Areca nut with lime is also considered to be one of the cause this disease.
- The CAUSATIVE AGENT of veruccous hyperplasia --- Papillomavirus
Symptoms :-
- Initial symptoms include distinct white lesion on tongue or on the buccal mucosa.
- The lesion is white with flat or grainy surface.
- However , in majority of cases there is no appearance of symptoms.
- It can also appear in the floor of tongue
- Appears in upper palate.
- Appears on the lips in rare cases.
