BABINSKI'S SIGN
This is a reflex of the foot in which if we stroke the sole of the foot with a blunt object then the toes undergo plantar flexion(means downward projection of the toes in the direction of the ground).
BABINSKI'S SIGN :- Abnormality in plantar flexion is called extensor reflex which is also called babinski's sign.
°In Babinski's sign the hallax(great toe) moves in upward direction and there will extension between the toes(other than great toe) which appears like a fan so also called fanning movement of the toes.(babinski's test)
CAUSE :-
Damage to corticospinal tract which is a pyramidal tract which comes under descending tract & Even UMNL(upper motor neuron lesion)
•UMN : These are neurons which are present in brain and the spinal cord whose lesion causes :-
#Damage to more than 1 muscles .
#Spasticity
#Superficial reflex like cremastric reflex,anal reflex, abdominal reflex are affected others reflexes are present.
NORMAL BABINSKI'S SIGN :-
• This is a babinski's sign present in infants of age group 1-2 yrs which occurs in deep sleep and etc... BUT; If the babinski's sign is occuring after 2 or3 yrs then it may indicate sone neurological disorder or may be upper motor neuron lesion.
